Math Challenge 2026-27
Fifteen challenges. One school year. Lots of chances to win.
Math Challenge is a free, at-home program from Math in Action that gives Ardenwood students a fun way to practice math and problem solving. Every challenge a student completes earns another chance at a prize.

How it works
- Grab the challenge. A new one is released every two weeks, October through May, on Friday at noon. Find it on Ardenwood's Math in Action page, and click on the "CURRENT MATH CHALLENGE" button on the top right.
- Solve it at home. Students have two weeks to work through the problems.
- Submit your answers. Enter them in the Google Form (coming soon) by Thursday at 4pm, two weeks after release.
- Check your work. Solutions are posted the following day. Friday, at noon.
Prizes
Every completed challenge earns one raffle entry, so the more challenges a student finishes, the better their odds.
There are three drawings, with two prizes each:
- After Challenge 5 — December
- After Challenge 10 — March
- After Challenge 15 — May
Entries are tracked automatically, so there are no physical tickets to keep. The winners will be picked at random. Winners will be announced, and prizes will be delivered to their classroom teacher.
End-of-year recognition
- All 15 challenges — Certificate of Achievement and a prize
- 12 or more challenges — Certificate of Achievement
- Students will also be invited to take part in the school-wide STEM recognition event at the end of the school year.
Cost
FREE! There is no cost to students.
